Leadership
Prima Sidera was founded by Mr. Carmine America, who brings extensive experience at the intersection of policy, industry, and geopolitics.
Carmine served as a Board Member at Leonardo S.p.A., one of the world’s leading aerospace, defense, and security companies. Within the Leonardo Board, he was a member of the Nominations and Governance Committee as well as the Sustainability and Innovation Committee.
Previously, he held the position of Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy on international security and defense. In this role, he was a member of the Advisory Committee for Export Controls and the Interministerial Committee for Foreign Investment Attraction. He participated in official delegations and bilateral meetings with senior international counterparts, including the U.S. Secretary of State, the NATO Secretary-General, and the Foreign Ministers of France, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Egypt, Turkey, Algeria, Lebanon, India, and others.
Before that, he served as Advisor for International Relations to the Minister of Economic Development and Deputy Prime Minister of Italy. He was appointed as a member of the Committee for the Development of the Aerospace Industry and represented the Ministry at the National Space Council in Palazzo Chigi (2018–2019). During this tenure, he also participated in official meetings with the U.S. Secretary of Commerce and the U.S. Secretary of Energy, as well as high-level discussions on Italy–U.S. cooperation in cybersecurity at the U.S. Department of State, the Pentagon, and the Department of Homeland Security.
Education & Affiliations
Carmine is an Alumnus of Bologna Business School, where he completed an Executive MBA (EMBA XX). He also holds two postgraduate Master’s degrees: one in Geopolitics and Global Security from Sapienza University of Rome, and one in Economic Security, Geopolitics, and Intelligence from SIOI (UNA Italy). He graduated in Law from the University of Urbino.
He is a member of the Councilors Program at the Atlantic Council in Washington, DC, reflecting his continued engagement in transatlantic and global security dialogues.
